Safety tips for using and transporting
gas bottles
Wikkerink Winterswijk stands for safety. Safety is essential when working with gas and gas bottles. With the right precautions you minimize risks and can use and transport gas bottles safely. Never fill yourself. Always have gas bottles filled by an qualified company.

Tip 1 - Transport gas bottles upright
Make sure that bottles are firmly secured and cannot fall over while driving. This prevents bottles from rolling. Rolling bottles can be damaged. In the worst case, gas can be released.
Tip 2 - Protect the gas tap
Use a faucet protector or cap to protect the gas tap.
Tip 3 - No closed space
Never leave gas bottles in an enclosed space such as a car, especially in high temperatures.
Tip 4 - Ventilation during transport
Make sure there is adequate ventilation in the car or trailer.
Tip 5 - Check for leaks
Check with soapy water if gas escapes at the connection. Bubbles indicate a leak. Never use an open flame.
Tip 6 - Using the gas bottle
Make sure the bottle is not in direct sunlight or gets too hot. Of course, think of other heat sources. In the summer, the temperature in a car can quickly rise, especially if it is in full sun.
Tip 7 - Maintenance
Use only approved hoses, regulators and fittings. Check hose expiration date and replace if necessary.
Tip 8 - Close the bottle after use
Turn off the tap when the bottle is not in use.
Tip 9 - No children or pets nearby
Prevent children or pets from reaching the bottle. Children can accidentally open the gas tap, with all the associated dangers. The gas bottle can also accidentally be knocked over.
